Jay-Z and Kanye West Set to Co-Produce Chris Rock’s New Film “Top Five”

Kanye West and Jay-Z are set to co-produce a new movie that Chris Rock wrote, called Top Five. The distribution deal is through Paramount and was the biggest deal at the Toronto International Film Festival this year. The Roots and Questlove will serve as the film’s executive music producer. The deal is worth $12.5 million. It doesn’t end there either: Tracy Morgan, J.B. Smoove, Cedric the Entertainer, Kevin Hart, Sherri Shepherd and Jay Pharoah are all locked in to have roles in the Top Five film in addition to the star of the film, Chris Rock. Chris Rock stars as “Andre Allen” who is a character based off of the comedy careers of himself, Eddie Murphy, and Kevin Hart. Andre Allen’s character transitions from a standup comic to a major Hollywood actor who eventually reconsiders his comedy career after an encounter with a journalist, played by the lovely Rosario Dawson. We’re stoked for this movie already.
