This past weekend was a very meaningful one for me because I got the chance to devour one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever tasted. It might’ve been that I was drunk and craving mass quantities of greasy food – but either way this Lobster Grilled Cheese sandwich from L.A. Cafe was a slice of heaven. Chunks of lobster are smothered between melted cheddar and brie cheese, with tarragon and grainy mustard and mayo all inclosed with two slabs of buttery white country bread. It’s the perfect drunken meal.

And I have decided to attempt to recreate it.

I made it in the exact same way except I added my own flare to the sandwich by using smoked salmon AND lobster. It was a spur of the moment choice but I figured if I was going to do this I was going to go all out. It came out amazing but I’ll definitely have to eat it sparingly. I’m now starting to understand just how much cheese and butter they have in their version. And it’s definitely necessary. If you’re ever in Los Angeles, visit the L.A. Cafe it’s open 24 hours a day! Until then…
