L.A. Duo THEY. Return with Nirvana Inspired Single “Rather Die”

A year after dropping their first project Nu Religion and two major hits following (“Say When” and “Deep End”), L.A. duo Drew and Dante, otherwise known as THEY. release yet another electrifying single titled “Rather Die”. Sampled from Nirvana’s 1991 hit “Polly”, the pair put their own twist on this 90’s classic as a tribute to one of their greatest inspirations.

With just six tracks under their belt, the singers/rappers have created their own hip hop meets rock-inspired sound that has struck quite a fan base. In fact, in a recent interview with VIBE, the pair mentioned they had full intent to use the beat from “Polly” even after a few executives cautioned against it:

“All the business people begged us to change it but we couldn’t bring ourselves to change it. We did what was best for the song and our fans, just let it be what it was intended to be, two guys vibing to one of their favorite riffs of all time.”

Check out THEY.’s most recent cut below and stay tuned for their upcoming album HYENA.
