Brooklyn duo Denitia and Sene have shared their long-awaited sophomore album, love and noir. Lead by the synthy and slowly thumping single “favorite”, the 12-track project is more or less a collection of electronic, futuristic R&B, and pop tracks that take you late into the night with subdued vocals and wallowing production. Stories of love’s often gambling nature mixed in with waves of joy and sadness, consume much of the project. You can get lost in the romantic 808’s of “roulette” or speed up the pace with “alone”, an upbeat 80’s pop styled song with an autonomous message about getting by on your own. Either way, the duo offer up a generous and textured album, rich in both context and sound.
