Last Friday, U.K. emcee Stormzy dropped his first song in nine months, “Big For Your Boots”, along with an accompanying music video. Directed by DAPS, the video adds more layers to the male-dominated block-hugging of past grime visuals. Still incorporating his clique, adorned in all white attire posted inside of a regal restaurant, Stormzy also shows women (all prominent in the U.K. music and art scenes) dressed in over-sized winter coats mean mugging and going dumb. He takes the viewer to the many different corners of London, from the River Thames and the London Eye to his local chicken shop. Although most of the video shows Stormzy boastfully swaggering around the city, the last scene switches up the mood. The finale shows a bunch of noticeably white Brits angrily charging at him while he stands stoically still. Check out the video below and be on the lookout for his album, Gang Signs & Prayer, dropping February 24th.
